Refineries

Air Scientific provides high-precision environmental and occupational monitoring services to the refining industry, where complex thermal and chemical processes generate a wide spectrum of air pollutants. Emissions from crude oil refining and petrochemical operations include volatile organic compounds (VOCs), sulphur compounds, particulates and combustion gases.

Our stack emission testing programmes measure VOCs, sulphur dioxide (SO₂), nitrogen oxides (NOₓ), carbon monoxide (CO), particulate matter and hazardous air pollutants (HAPs) from process heaters, flares, regenerators and vents, ensuring regulatory compliance and verifying abatement system performance.

Fenceline and ambient air monitoring are deployed to assess off-site impacts, detect fugitive emissions and confirm that pollutant levels remain within permitted thresholds to protect nearby communities and ecosystems.

In parallel, occupational exposure monitoring targets VOCs (including benzene and toluene), hydrogen sulphide (H₂S) and process-related particulates in critical zones such as distillation units, catalytic crackers and tank farms, helping to manage health risks in high-hazard environments.

This robust and integrated approach is essential for refineries to maintain operational safety, meet environmental regulations and uphold stakeholder confidence in the management of high-impact industrial processes.

Very satisfied with service. The site team are very professional and friendly. Both John and Brian always pick up the phone should we require any troubleshooting assistance. This can’t be said for other businesses in the industry.
