Air emissions are a primary area of environmental control in foundries. Emissions arise from furnaces, sand handling and shakeout processes, releasing particulate matter (PM10 and respirable crystalline silica), volatile organic compounds (VOCs), carbon monoxide, sulphur dioxide (SO2), nitrogen oxides (NOx) and metals.
Beyond point-source sampling, we implement ambient air monitoring to evaluate fugitive dust dispersion and workplace exposure assessments to protect employees engaged in shakeout, fettling and grinding.
